COACHES BIOS

Mike Vitale  – Head Coach

Coach Mike is dedicated to developing skilled, confident, and well-rounded softball players. He emphasizes the importance of academics and encourages athletes to participate in multiple sports to build strength, coordination, and balance.

This season, Coach Mike plans to guide his team through approximately 15 tournaments, with weekly practices focused on skill development, teamwork, and individual growth. Players can expect to train with both batting and pitching coaches, gaining a complete understanding of the game.

Coach Mike believes in motivating through positive reinforcement while also challenging athletes to exceed their own expectations. His ultimate goal is to teach valuable lessons in discipline, perseverance, and teamwork—qualities that extend far beyond the softball field.

Coach Mike Vitale is passionate about helping athletes grow both as players and as individuals. He believes that while winning is important, development and learning always come first. Every practice and game is an opportunity to strengthen fundamentals, improve softball IQ, and prepare players for higher-level competition.

During games, Coach Mike focuses on teaching moments—helping players learn from mistakes and quickly move forward to the next play. His calm, constructive approach builds confidence and resilience in every athlete.

Coach Mike’s coaching philosophy centers on teamwork, preparation, and mental toughness. He strives to create an environment where players support one another, build strong bonds, and are ready to take on any challenge—on and off the diamond. By emphasizing communication, trust, and game awareness, he helps his players grow not just as athletes, but as confident young women prepared for success in all areas of life.

John Jasko  – Assistant Coach

Coach John Jasko brings passion, energy, and a player-first mindset to the field. As an assistant coach, his mission is to help athletes become the best versions of themselves—both on and off the diamond. He focuses on building trust, accountability, and confidence while fostering a love for the game that lasts well beyond each season.

On the field, Coach Jasko motivates players by keeping energy high, setting clear goals, and celebrating accomplishments. Off the field, he emphasizes personal growth and team unity. His approach to coaching is grounded in communication, respect, and a balance of teaching and competitiveness.

When handling mistakes during games, Coach Jasko believes in quick, constructive feedback followed by more in-depth discussions when appropriate. His style is firm but encouraging, always aimed at helping players learn and grow from each situation.

As a coach, he values development as the key to success. “A more developed and knowledgeable team will win more games,” he says. “Teaching and learning directly reflect a team’s success.”

Coach Jasko’s philosophy centers on continuous improvement—developing players to be better than they were yesterday, teaching confidence on and off the field, and motivating them to keep their passion for the game alive.

Tonie Tucker  – Assistant Coach

Coach Tonie brings experience, dedication, and a positive attitude to the team, focusing on helping players grow both on and off the field. With a belief that development is a continuous process, he emphasizes teaching, teamwork, and effort in every aspect of the game.

His coaching style centers around positivity and support. He understands that every player is different, but one thing remains consistent—players respond best when they know their coaches believe in them. “You can never go wrong with being positive,” he says. “Have fun with the players and make sure they know you’re there for them both on and off the field.”

Coach Tonie believes that teaching and development come before everything else. Winning is just one part of the learning process, and both victories and losses provide valuable lessons that apply not only to softball but to life.

When mistakes happen, his advice is simple: learn from it and move forward. Maintaining a short memory after an error allows players to stay focused and confident, ready for the next opportunity.

As an assistant coach, he’s always ready to step in and help wherever needed—whether that’s supporting the other coaches, guiding the players, or ensuring the team runs smoothly. His goal is to help prepare athletes for whatever challenges and successes the future may bring.

Coach Tonie believes in a straightforward but powerful principle: Practice just as hard as you play. By bringing intensity and focus to every practice, players develop the habits and resilience needed to succeed on game day.

Zack Cutter  – Assistant Coach

Coach Zack Cutter brings energy, balance, and a strong focus on player development to the coaching staff. With years of experience in travel softball, he believes success starts with accountability, hard work, and a genuine love for the game.

Zack emphasizes that attendance and commitment are essential to team growth, while also encouraging athletes to be well-rounded. He strongly supports multi-sport participation, understanding that developing as a complete athlete benefits players both physically and mentally.

He’s dedicated to maintaining a consistent training schedule—typically around 10 hours a week of team practices, hitting sessions, and throwing and catching workouts. He believes consistent effort builds confidence and results in better performance when it matters most.

When motivating players, Coach Zack focuses on positive reinforcement. His approach is to highlight great moments—like solid footwork or a quick first step—while still recognizing areas for improvement. “Every player wants the positive outcomes to be noticed and the negative ones forgotten,” he says. “Motivation comes from positive feedback and helping them see how they can get better.”

Coach Zack doesn’t measure success solely by wins. “In travel softball, Saturdays are for learning, and Sundays are for playing to win,” he explains. “When winning brings more reps and opportunities to grow, that’s success.”

Mistakes are part of the process, and Zack’s philosophy is simple: acknowledge, adjust, and move forward. He believes players become stronger when they face challenges head-on, learn from them, and stay mentally ready for the next play.

As an assistant coach, Zack takes pride in being adaptable—filling in wherever he’s needed and supporting all areas of team management. His goal is to strengthen the team culture through trust, consistency, and shared accountability.

Coach Zack’s philosophy is built on a few key principles:

  • Credibility: A coach’s word must mean something. Clear communication and follow-through build trust.

  • Work Ethic: Practice should be harder than games—hard work beats pure athleticism every time.

  • Leadership & Motivation: Winning teams are built not only by coaches but by players who inspire one another.

  • Confidence: Helping players believe in themselves leads to better outcomes in any situation.

  • Respect: Every player, coach, and parent’s time and effort deserve appreciation.

  •

Above all, Coach Zack believes softball should be fun. “It’s a game,” he says. “If we don’t win, we still learn—and that’s part of the fun.”

Mike Emmons  – Assistant Coach

Coach Mike Emmons brings a wealth of experience, passion, and positivity to the team. His coaching philosophy centers on effort, attitude, and enjoyment of the game. He believes that every player should bring two things to the field each day—a good attitude and their best effort. His goal is to keep players smiling, motivated, and focused on these core values every time they step on the diamond.

As a coach, Mike emphasizes that teaching and development should always be the top priority. He believes that when players grow in their skills and understanding of the game, winning naturally follows. His balanced approach ensures that the team continues to improve while maintaining a supportive and fun atmosphere.

When it comes to handling mistakes, Coach Mike views them as essential learning opportunities. “Softball is a game of failure,” he says. “Learning from those failures and making adjustments is what makes great players. My job is to help them find that adjustment.”

In his role as assistant coach, Mike focuses on building trust, supporting each player’s development, and fostering confidence both on and off the field. Whether he’s calling pitches, offering encouragement, or sharing a high five in the dugout, his goal is to be there for his players in every moment.

Coach Mike’s philosophy is simple yet powerful: Have fun, support one another, and learn to trust your teammates. Work hard, play hard, and strive for greatness.
